WORK READY PROGRAM

The Work Ready Program consists of two components:

1. Outreach Services Component

The primary purpose of the Outreach Services Component is to locate TANF individuals who should be engaged in employment and training activities and facilitate their reporting to the County Assistance Office for a determination of their status.

Individuals are informed of the TANF regulations pertaining to work requirements, time limits and opportunities that are available to them through a home visit with a case manager.   Community resources and supportive services are offered, as needed, to overcome any barriers that may be preventing them from complying with the Federal work requirements.

The goal of the Outreach Services Component is to ensure that all individuals are given every opportunity to comply with the requirement to participate in work activities so that TANF benefits can continue or be restored until unsubsidized employment can be obtained.

2. Supported Work Component

The Supported Work Component provides TANF recipients with education, skills training, work activities and job placement services designed to enable them to become self-sufficient.

Individuals are assigned a case manager, job developer and job readiness coach that will assist them in overcoming identified barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment.

The goal of the Supported Work Component is to support those individuals who are not eligible for SSI yet or have limitations to full employment to reach their highest level of participation in work activities.

Referrals for this program are made through the local county assistance offices.
